Rome - Unnecessary urban decay

This essential photographic reportage focuses on the urban decay in some Roman neighborhoods close to the area of Ostiense, halfway between the historic center and the EUR.
Every time I go back to the streets of my city, my awareness increases: the human is able to adapt and conform himself to a reality in which he is located and it leads him, day by day, to develop a very selective and subjective perception of things, as if an unconscious behaviour was adopted to accept and survive in contexts that objectively lost any trail of dignity: I always observe this "accustomization" that gradually relegates to the end and hold up problems otherwise deemed unacceptable and which perhaps the urban deprivation is merely the most visible side.
A photograph, however, unless the photographer doesn't use appropriate techniques, can not escape the grasp and denounce what our eyes refuse to accept.
I wanted to proceed by inversion and reverse that mechanism, trying to determine what takes our minds daily well cut off reality, forgoing any aesthetic intent in favor of a strictly informational one. The result is images of an unnenecssary urban and excessive degradation. It is not dictated by conditions of necessity and poverty. There is not even any kind of Street art.
