Canon announced two new specialized L series lenses for the upcoming PMA 2009: the wide-angle TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II and the ultra wide-angle TS-E 17mm f/4L, where TS is the acronym for Tilt and Shift. The system equipped by both lenses barrel allows to control tilting and shifting independently of each other, affording greater control over the focal plane, replicating the movements of a large format view camera. Flare and ghosting are effectively reduced by the new "sub-wavelength structure coating" (SWC). Chromatic aberration is reduced by an aspherical and UD lens elements.
Both lenses are designed for the 35mm format and are compatible with 1.6x and 1.3x cropped format cameras.
