Olympus announces today a new upper entry level Dslr for the upcoming PMA 2009. Olympus claims the E-620 as the smallest DSLR with in-body Image Stabilization. It weights 521 g (1.1 lb)
The new reflex sports 12.3 effective Mpx in a tiny glass fibre reinforced plastic body similar to the E-420 and a set of advanced features similar to the mid-range E-30 and sharing with it the same 4/3 type Hi-Speed Live MOS sensor.
Besides the above comparison this new model is intended to be an evolution of the E-520, as its name may suggest, and it adresses some weaknesses and limitations of its predecessor, as the 3 points Af system now increased to 7 points including 5 cross-type sensors and a larger lcd panel: the swivel 2.7" 230 K pxs display (HyperCrystal III TFT LCD, wide viewing angle, transmissive) is even an improvement of the E-30 one (semi transmissive).
