The Prado is the first museum to bring his works digitally to the public with the aid Google Maps online service. Accessibility is immediate and once the page is loaded the user is already able to explore the fourteen masterpieces in every smallest detail of the canvas, allowing a screen magnification greater than the original.
An accurate shooting project has been executed for each canvas: multiple series of shots were then performed with small-format SLR (Nikon D200) and tele-photo lens (by Nikon) and finally processed with a perspective restitution specialized software, which tracked real position coordinates of the cameras. Every series of thousands of shots produced images of 14 Gpixel each, a resolution 1400 times greater than the 10 Mpx sported by the camera used.
