In 1903, the Wright Brothers showed to the world that man could fly.
In 1909, they brought their invention – the Flyer – on the Centocelle runway near Rome. Their performance unveiled the potential of the new aircraft and laid the foundations for its future use in our country.
This event marks the beginning of aviation in Italy. What has changed in one century?
From transport to public utility, from gliding to acrobatics, from Search & Rescue missions to technological advances and the man-machine relation, from different figures of pilots to air space defence.
A journey inside this world, 100 years after the historical flight of the Wright Brothers in Italy.
